Position Title: Deli Assistant

We are looking for someone who is customer-orientated and has a passion for food, has exceptional hygiene, has strong organisation skills and attention to detail and can provide the authentic Italian experience we are creating.

The Deli Assistants will be making fresh panini’s, prepare and clean workstations and displays, answer questions and respond to customer requests, and provide information to customers to ensure that they select the products that best fit their needs.

To be successful, you should be polite, prompt, and knowledgeable. Additionally, you should be able to meet the physical demands of the position while providing customers with the best possible experience. Prefer prior experience working within a Deli environment.

Main Duties / Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations and responding to requests.
  • Undertaking day to day deli tasks including customer service cash handling/EFTPOS transactions, packaging and floor work.
  • Recommending, slicing, weighing, and pricing meats and cheeses.
  • Preparing special orders and grazing boxes,
  • Be a team member player with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing rubbish, and confirming that tools are in working order in accordance with Food Safety & COVID Safe requirements.
  • Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased with company standards.
  • Other tasks as directed/required.

Skills Required:

  • Deli counter or food preparation experience is required.
  • Ability to lift heavy items, operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, cash register etc.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
  • A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer request, questions and complaints.
  • Italian language would be an advantage.

You will be required to work weekdays flexible during our opening hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Saturday 8:00am – 2.00 pm. Closed Sunday & Public Holidays.

Job Type: Full-time/Part Time and casual available

Experience:

At least 12 months experience in a Deli preferred but not essential for the right person.

Position Title: Barista

We are looking for someone who is customer-orientated and has a passion for coffees, has exceptional hygiene, has strong organisation skills and attention to detail and can provide the authentic Italian experience we are creating.

We’re currently offering a Barista role to a passionate individual that prides themselves on impeccable service, attention to detail and creativity. Also, someone who is genuinely friendly and attentive to our local customers and other team members.  You will have confidence in setting up/packing down the coffee bar and keeping the area clean. When not making coffees, you will help out with serving customers and assist in the deli department as required.

Main Duties / Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking charge of our coffee program, overseeing the delivery of a consistently high standard of product
  • Sharing your knowledge and passion through training and support to front of house team members, ensuring they too are delivering quality coffee
  • Undertaking with day to day café tasks including customer service, taking orders, cash handling/EFTPOS transactions, packaging and floor work

 (as required/directed)

  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Assisting in ordering of coffee supplies as required 
  • Identifying opportunities to drive sales performance through product development/recipes and enhance the customer experience
  • Ensure work areas are cleaned and sanitised throughout the day in accordance with Food Safety, COVID Safe compliance
  • Other tasks as directed/required

Skills and experience

We’re seeking a driven individual, who possesses the following attributes:

  • Proven industry experience in Barista role and current referees provided on your resume.
  • Impeccable barista skills, with experience using coffee and latte art.
  • Customer focused attitude, with an ability to cement key relationships, high level of integrity, organisation and attention to details.
  • Capable of providing training to team members, and a clear communicator.
  • Italian language would be an advantage.
